The Piano Man is letting go of his Long Island estate—but does it come with a Steinway? Billy Joel has placed his sprawling waterfront property on the market with a $49 million price tag. Located on Centre Island, a village in Long Island’s Oyster Bay, the 26-acre plot hosts several structures, including a 20,000-square-foot main home, a three-bedroom guest house, a four-bedroom gate house, a floating dock, a helipad, and two swimming pools. Bonnie Williamson of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing for the property, which enjoys over 2,000 feet of water frontage on Oyster Bay Harbor.
Behind its red brick facade, the main house holds five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half-baths. There’s also a bowling alley, a wine cellar, six fireplaces, a spa and salon area, panoramic water views, and an indoor pool that the Grammy winner covered and instead used as a music room, according to the Wall Street Journal. Per their report, the “Uptown Girl” singer is looking to sell since he and his wife, Alexis Roderick, are spending more time at their Florida property, a $22 million estate that Joel reportedly acquired in 2015.
